Software Architect

A software architect at Northridge is an individual that has at least 10 years of full life cycle software engineering and team leadership experience. Software architects are responsible for designing software applications using best practices and should have a strong understanding of modern development methodologies, Microsoft.NET, SQL Server, object-oriented design, and relational database modeling. Software architects are also responsible for coaching and training junior-level programmers such that those programmers are instilled with best practices and can quickly advance to a senior level within the organization.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design high-level software architecture including Object-Oriented Analysis and Design
  • Design relational database models to support database-driven software systems
  • Interface with customer project sponsors to articulate technical aspects of project delivery
  • Work closely with sales team members as a technical subject matter expert
  • Assist the sales team members in drafting sales proposals and presentations
  • Present technical material in sales meetings
  • Coach and train junior and senior level software engineers
  • Estimate project time requirements
  • Adherence to Software Engineering best practices and company delivery methodology
  • Work with project management team members to lead Discovery phase meetings
  • Work with project management to draft Discovery phase deliverables including technical and functional architecture documents
  • Travel as needed

Qualifications Include:

  • 10 years of software engineering and team leadership experience
  • 5+ years of interfacing with customers in a consultative format
  • Expert level with Microsoft.NET, COM/ActiveX, SQL Server 2005, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript, and Windows Server 2003
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD.NET) certification
  • Undergraduate or Masters degree in Computer Science
  • Excellent presentation, written, verbal, and overall communication skills
