Senior Systems Engineer

A senior systems engineer at Northridge is an individual that has at least 5 years of network and systems engineering experience on the Microsoft platform. Senior systems engineers are responsible for implementing advanced network infrastructure projects for Northridge customers. A senior systems engineer will have completed multiple implementations of Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design, plan, and deploy advanced systems infrastructures using Microsoft server technology
  • Work closely with sales team members as a technical subject matter expert
  • Assist the sales team members in drafting sales proposals and presentations
  • Present technical material in sales meetings
  • Coach and train systems administrators and helpdesk personnel
  • Estimate project time requirements
  • Go onsite to customer locations regularly as needed to provide services
  • Work with customer personnel over the phone to resolve technical tasks and issues
  • Be available "on call" for emergency situations involving service level agreements
  • Travel as needed

Qualifications Include:

  • 5 years of Microsoft-based systems engineering experience
  • 3 years of experience with one or more multi-site Active Directory forests
  • Multiple successful Windows Server 2003, Active Directory and Exchange Server 2007 migration projects
  • Expert level with Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, Exchange Server 2007, Group Policy Objects, DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP, Security, IPSec, and VPN
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (Windows Server 2003) certification
  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Excellent presentation, written, verbal, and overall communication skills
