Northridge Launches Comprehensive Solution for JAS Worldwide on the Microsoft SharePoint Platform

Atlanta, GA -- Northridge proudly announces the launch of multiple new JAS Worldwide web solutions on the Microsoft SharePoint platform including a customer portal extranet, an employee intranet, and a public website, which can be found at www.jas.com.

After forming a new unified corporate entity, JAS was seeking to create a common brand experience and set of capabilities and tools to enable collaboration across its clients, prospects, and employees around the globe. In support of these goals, JAS turned to Northridge to develop a series of solutions based on the Microsoft SharePoint platform to better communicate internally, with clients, and with new prospects. In an effort to alleviate reliance on the JAS IT department, JAS also wanted the new solutions  to allow for content management by non-technical marketing and business unit employees.

Northridge initially engaged with JAS to develop a proof-of-concept to demonstrate the value of the new solutions to the JAS executive team. Following the proof-of-concept, Northridge recommended a common Microsoft SharePoint platform for all three distinct web solutions – the public website, the customer portal extranet, and the employee intranet. The SharePoint platform was recommended due to its inherent content management and collaboration capabilities, while also allowing for custom functionality as well as custom branding and user experience.

Northridge developed each of the following JAS SharePoint properties with unique, custom aspects:

  •  The JAS public website, communicating with JAS prospects, leverages heavy use of Adobe Flash to provide a high impact end user experience while leveraging SharePoint’s content management capabilities to allow for easy content updating.
  • The JAS extranet, managing JAS client relationships, integrates Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) allowing customers to immediately communicate and collaborate with key contacts at JAS.
  • The JAS intranet, driving internal JAS productivity, leverages global and regional permissions and security to facilitate internal collaboration and enable standardized business processes.

Northridge and JAS collaborated on all aspects of the unified SharePoint rollout from brand strategy, through requirements gathering, and then executing on the systems development, quality assurance, training, and launch. The final solution truly showcases the ability to create a unique user interface on SharePoint while utilizing both inherent and custom content management and collaborative capabilities, providing JAS with more effective collaboration internally across the organization and more efficient communication externally to existing clients and prospects.
